While sucking on a peach seed . . .
While sucking on a peach seed . . .
I watch a hummingbird
flitting from flower to flower,
consuming the nectar of life.

As I sucked on the seed,
savoring its sweet joy
I wondered
if this was how God felt
at the moment of creation
when He
proclaimed BE
and the primordial atom exploded.

Did God laugh,
feeling joy and happiness
as he thought
of the eons to come,
of the stars,
of the planets,
of the creatures,
of the civilizations
that would grow
from the seeds of the primordial atom
as they spread light
and life
across the darkness
of nonexistence.
