Someone to Listen

It was a windy, cold winter night when we met,
I knew right then I didn't stand a chance.

We started to talk, small talk.
Then it was my life, my story, my job, my feelings.
What surprised me was that she listened.

I had been distressed, a lost soul.
Ever since I lost her.
She listened, as we stood on the harbour,
As I spilled my story of loss.
It was hard for me,
After all those years.
And she listened, silent as the darkest night,
I just needed someone to listen,
Listen to my story of loss.

The Bay Stallion

His hooves beat the ground, like thunder in the sky.
His black mane whips is the wind.
He snorts and tosses his head, throwing up dust
as he skids to a stop.

He rears, black hooves kicking at the wind,
And his shrill neigh echos across the valley.
He then whinnied before taking off once more.

The sun gleams on his dark brown coat,
As he races across the valley.

He came as quick as lightning,
And vanished just as quick,
Galloping away into the shadows of the forest,
Away the Bay Stallion ran.
