Cafe de Flore

Red
shutters
flank windows,
their multi-paned
eyes overlook small
round tables, ice-cream chairs:
black-painted exclamations
‘midst magenta bougainvillea,
white geraniums, trailing ivy.
Fragrant coffee brews: morning siren call.

Conversations, a mixed bouquet of words:
dainty ‘gossips,’ languid ‘What-a-nights.’
Air hugs, net bags of bread and cheese,
petite dogs with pink collars,
inconsequential smiles -
pandemonium.
Relishing the
ambiance,
I write.
Bliss
