A humorous poem about a man's role in designing a room or a house with his spouse.
When re-doing a room or a house,
you may be asked what color and shade
of paint, what type of rug by your spouse
that you’d choose, but the decision made
rests not with you but lies with the lady
of the house. Your input is requested,
but soon the whole process seems shady;
the final choice is never what you suggested.

When asked to accompany her to pick
paint color, flooring, tile, countertop
or whatever, you learn pretty quick
that you might as well give in and stop
your suggestions, let her have her way.
If you ask why she wanted you along,
she will smile sweetly and then say
she wanted your participation to be strong.

So, men, just let her have a free hand
with design of the house, for you’ll adjust
to whatever she picks, but know beforehand
unless everything pleases her she’ll just bust.
