A poem about a woman missing her loved one, but the memories keep coming back to her.
Parasite

The laughs that play throughout my mind
Are from my memories about you
Flash backs that will never leave

I feel as if I’m going insane
Trapped in a cell made with bars of sorrow
They ricochet in my head
Like rubber balls thrown at the wall

I try to forget them
But they keep on coming back
Like an ocean that never drains
Letting everything through
Nothing to hold it back

The voices in my head
Remind me of paradise
A voice that sounds carefree
Creating a world of joy

You disappeared out of nowhere
Leaving me stranded and wounded
On this island
Without doubt of recovery
From the joy that was once more
A part of me
