Weekend At the Beach

I breathe in
the salty ocean air
savoring the sand
between my toes
as the warm sun
caresses my face.

I lie back on a blanket
of sparkling grains
while a shy mist
from the waves
sates my skin.

I undo my bikini top
with utmost discretion
lying on my belly
letting the sun massage my back.

Lost in the moment's tranquility
I doze to dreams
of soothing sun
and calming beaches
my own little paradise.

I jolt awake
to the crash of the waves
pleased to realize
it wasn't a dream.
