Glitter explodes all over Pat.
One day glitter exploded in Pat Catan’s store
and from then on it was like fine diamonds he wore.
In the past Pat arrived in a workaday suit,
but when glitter bedecked him, he looked kinda cute.

In the stockroom he stayed as we tended the shelves;
we were serious workers who kept to ourselves.
Yet when we heard the boom it was rightly discussed
as a glittery Pat appeared very nonplussed.

“O my goodness, what happened?” is all we could say,
and when Pat turned there was this decided display.
Like a myriad prisms with colors that gleam,
Pat said, “Why should I fight this new color regime?”

“I was minding my business right there in the back
when I noticed an unopened box on the rack.”
“So I severed the tape with my box-cutter knife--
the explosion provided the shock of my life!”

One employee remarked on the violet-blue,
while another one said, “The magenta will do.”
Still another was taken by translucent green,
and when Pat came my way it was spectrums umpteen.

Pat kept wearing the diamonds that scattered the rays,
(like a disco-light show in some forgotten days.)
How the glitter went off no one really will know,
but Pat truly reflected a colorful show.
