A poem/song about accepting a relationship is over
So many years together thrown away
Like promises made on our wedding day
You found a place inside another's heart
And now it feels like mine is torn apart

It’s not supposed to matter anymore
Rewrite the love we shared before
We lost each other on the way somehow
I need to accept that it's over now.

It’s hard for me to think of someone new
When in my heart I am still true to you
The more I try the more I seem to find
That I can't seem to get you off my mind

It’s not supposed to matter anymore
Rewrite the love that we shared before
We lost each other on the way somehow
I need to accept that it's over now.

And once my heart has had a chance to mend
The tears will stop and I will love again
The storm will pass and the sky will be clear
But I don't know how to get there from here

It’s not supposed to matter anymore
Sacrifice the love we had before
We lost each other on the way somehow
I need to accept that it's over now.

It's time to believe it's over now.
