A friendship lost, but never forgotten
I was in love with you
that first day we met
I just didn’t know it.
I remember how gentle you were
I was going through some rough stuff
but you made everything better
You said we could take it slow
that we didn’t have to do anything
we could just talk
I remember you reached out
and touched my face
and looked into my eyes.
at that moment you had me
we spend a lot of time together
but there was still that stuff hanging around
You had other women
I was sort of jealous
but I knew what we had was different
I love you’s were never shared between us
but I had very strong feelings for you
then one day you said it
You told me you thought
You were falling in love with me
I said, No you can’t
I still had that other stuff
I was afraid.
then you told me you were leaving
You were moving to another place
You wanted me to go
I couldn't
I lost my best friend.
