Sitting on the front porch......
I might be on the road to wrack and ruin

I might be on the road to wrack and ruin
dissolutely wasting precious time
sitting on the front porch with my feet up
swallowing a ginger beer and lime.

Then, again, I might be thinking deeply
about the tasks and projects I could do,
now that Spring is pushing back the Winter
green spears and buds are breaking through.

I might decide to redesign the garden
but, then, again, the hammock has appeal.
It might be better not to be too hasty,
for too much change can make the senses reel.

I might give some more consideration
to all the plans careening through my head.
Another hour or so out on the front porch
and have another ginger beer instead.
