A weird poem about being born of sin and asking for the forgiveness required.

Held to the sun
Screaming
Pleading
Put me down
No longer
Never again
God it burns
God it stings
I have no sins
Not one
I am just a baby
A nubile creature
Infallible because of time
I have not been alive
Long enough to truly sin
Long enough to regret
And if I have sinned
It was not my intent
All that I am
All that I’ve done
Was given at birth
So please
Put me down
Into the shade
Out of the rays
Into the cold
Place me where it is
I was truly meant to go
Once I am there
Leave me
So very much alone
Turn and walk away
Forget my given name
Forget my precious face
Give me a clean slate
Allow me the chance
To make my own mistakes
Allow me to grow
From an infant to a man
From a saint to a sinner
And then back again
What I am
What I’ve done
In the eyes of you
Whoever is holding me true
It is not my fault
Not what was planned
Find it in your heart
What I’ve done
Was given at birth
And none of it
Is my fault…
