Human urge to seek refuge in future predictions
Whatever will be, will be

When life’s wild and its events a torture
I have the urge to look into the future
To see if the casted gloom overhead
Will give way to days better ahead

So I gaze into the mouth open wide
Of my coffee cup lying on its side
To read my future in the coffee stains
And seek a panacea to drive away my pains

But what a futile effort, laughs my mind
That life can be dictated by coffee grind
If life was entangled in a coffee strong
I’ll create my future drinking it all day long

The present masks tender surprises
That’ll mature when their time arises
How lame to kill tomorrow’s suspense
And make life boring at fun’s expense

So I’ve decided to shore up my courage
And patiently face life at its every barrage
To put in my best in the present is the key
As for the future, whatever will be, will be.
