Chairs In The Desert

This small landscape was a desert to begin with,
Dried up dreams embracing the thoughts of feeling
Of becoming once again the moment on top of this all
My shadow follows me in the wrong direction
And as soon as I hear the edges collide again I know
It’s my heart turning to dust again, embracing the storm
The nights are cold here
And I don’t think I can see any further
Than that clear sky which haunts me so,
Little lights high above, don’t fall down just yet
Not until I found the reasons why it keeps getting dark
Not until I know for sure it’s the same fake dream again
Illusions are crawling together with reality’s insanity
Making up these reflections of a perfect landscape of the heart
To have and to hold away the reality
Beyond this delusive scene lies the decor scattered in the sand

And you walk, linger in this desert of my heart
Replacing the chairs to form a line I can’t see
You let me close my eyes, the dark is getting in
And sometimes it’s even darker when I bleed
Between the chairs lies this illusive lake, created
With only my own dried up tears from a dream or two
But it’s wrong to think wrong of its existence,
And it’s bad to think even better of this presence,
Just don’t keep waiting for the falling rain

This small landscape was a mess to begin with,
I already lost three wars and there’s one waiting for me
Through the years I left my kingdom unaware
My soul never follows me where I stand
A deserted place between two ravines of my past
It’s my heart turning to dust again, embracing the knowledge
The days are long here
And I don’t think I can walk any further
Than that horizon which keeps replacing itself
Sunrise, sunset – I’m not even sure if you can stay
Not until I found the reason why it keeps changing
Not until I know for sure it stays the same again
My heart feeds itself on the emptiness of these illusions,
Created with the forlorn fragments of this desert
To have and to hold away the reality
Beyond this delusive scene lies the decor scattered in the sand

And you walk, linger in this desert of my heart
Replacing the chairs to form a line I can’t see
You let me close my eyes, the dark is getting in
And sometimes it’s even darker when I bleed
Between the chairs lies this illusive lake, created
With only my own dried up tears from a dream or two
But it’s wrong to think wrong of its existence,
And it’s bad to think even better of this presence,
Just don’t keep waiting for the falling rain,
Just don’t keep waiting
