A poem about the monster within
When walking down the dark road
I found "it"
"It"overtakes my soul
and poisons my heart.

I try to destroy "It"
but "It" laughs at my
failed attempts
because I didn't try

No matter what I do,
"it" never leaves.
Turning everything dark
within me

As a smile flashes by
I'll attempt to smile back but
"It will burn the smile
and watch me suffer.

"It" doesn't like to be extinguished
"It" roars and grows.
Turning what was something good,
into a monster.

The monster I have to cage,
but "It" unlocks the door,
throwing away the key.
Making the monster loose control,
hungry for more.

That dark road
never ends, "It" makes
the trip even longer.
My monster is not patient.

Everything I do,
"It" follows, and so
does my monster
who always wants more.

No one has seen the true monster yet,
but "It" teases me.
"It" walks for the perfect moment,
to let the true monster out.

"It" will never quit.
The cycle never ends.
"It" loves me and my monster.
"It" is the hatred I feel
