Remember the good ole days? Here they are in a poetic form.
Remember
Remember when the century was new
and the Wright Brothers flew?
When the butter was churned
and those barred-up seamstresses burned.
When the first phonograph spoke
and a European threat was merely a joke.

Remember when the women could first vote,
and the Germans sank our boat?
When Texas oil men struck black gold,
and the Civil War grew old.
When the stock market crashed,
and men were left  abashed.

Remember when we harnessed the Colorado
and Charles Lindberg was a hero?
When they destroyed Hickam Airfield
and women played in the outfield.
When rock-n-roll inspired,
and the world admired.

Remember when memories were made
and all the bills were paid?
When we anticipated tomorrow
and science raised our brows.
When today was special
and people were social.

Remember today when diseases are cured
and wages are earned.
When we love what we do
and the planet too.
When the star-spangled banner flies tall
and there is freedom for all.
