A poem about waiting for test results that could end in termination of a pregnancy.
How can I say I love you
When the choice is mine
To bring you forth
Or end your life

I want to tell you stories
About your family
But you may never see us
which makes me feel guilty

It hurts me to be honest
about such an old vow
But I cannot let you suffer
So please forgive me somehow

I want to hope, I really do
But the fear is too strong
If God has mercy now
The diagnosis will be be wrong

Angels hear me one last time
As the waiting breaks my heart
Save my child from what I fear
It shouldn't end before it starts.
