Thoughts while watching the snow fall
A deep chill fills the air
Winds blow, I hear them moan
I shiver then turn the heat up a little
With a sense of excitement and dread I watch
    as the storm moves in
It is lovely as it begins the work of coating everything
      in its path
I watch from the window
Hard to believe no two snowflakes are alike
My world begins to turn soft, puffy, sparkling white
with grey skies and few clouds
I know what's coming:  heavy clothes,
    hats, gloves,boots, shovels, scrapers
  and  slippery roads
The snow is blinding now, but daylight is fading
I check once more on the falling snow
Will it continue through the night? Maybe!
I should get some sleep, and face the mess
in the morning.
