Recalling a close relationship
I walked the street of an empty road

And began to appreciate the love she showed

She let me stay to accomplish my dreams

Now in my memory her smile beams

So welcoming and kind it proved to show

No one was excluded and now I know.

I saw the path so lonely and dull

As the streets and gardens usually full.

It doesn't seem right her not being here

Missing her sense of humor so dear.

The grass was olive when it was originally lime

The brightness has gone with the passing of time.

It slipped away just like she did

I barely noticed I was just a kid

Now i'm standing at the end of the street

Wondering if again we'll ever meet

If I hold back the tears i'll almost choke

I let them fall, my collar soaks

There are memories i''l hold forever

Which we'll recall the next time we're together.
