Sonnet example for BTB
What a cruel trick we play upon the heart
that compels us to search the face of God.
Can we now seek a place from which to start
to search among the stars, within the sod?

As we question, we need to push the line
between the here and now, so as to learn
the nature of the earth, and the divine
for knowledge is the goal for which we yearn.

But who are we to ask, to question life,
to seek the answers life has yet to give,
when all our prodding stirs a world of strife
that will follow us as long as we shall live?

If we never search, then how shall we find
the power hidden within the human mind.
