on hearing today from my friend that he has incurable cancer
                   


My good friend told me today,
    that he was going away...
I didn’t know just what to say--
    all that's left, is for me to pray.
I guess we all, just want to stay
    but the old grim reaper stands in the way.
I have a gift for you if I may
  but it won’t change what I heard this day.
I love you more than time will allow
  and nothing can ever change that now…
