More Internal reflections

From Dark To Darkness” (5/30/2013)

“A shocking truth blinds day, and coldness now is here,
Aligned to restlessness, as now, begins this fear.
What I was, long gone, to rise to strength again,
I had left this all behind, and do not remember when.
Myself, to laugh at me, I said I will not last,
I hang my head in shame, forced to face this past.
Ghosts of restless old, still haunt me through this day,
I cannot face this truth, nor keep these fiends at bay.
A past I left for dead, and friends that had to die,
Alone in darkened room, alone, and left to cry.
And with redemption found, a traveled path now lost,
These whispers from the grave, had paid what I had cost.
A brightness shining through, a darkness coming near,
This longing brings new hope, and also brings new fear.
For what I was, long dead, and what I am, not grown,
This evil now awake, and stained-through, darkened bone.
A purpose made of truth, as moral fiber dies,
This shrouded mist of death, in living life of lies.
The strain of ennui shown, as now, it’s brought to be,
As mist, to fade away, revealing all that’s me.”
