A personal poem revolving around the events of the Great Gatsby.
Gatsby

Wandering forever stars

Deliver me from this void universe.

Entirety in its

Meaning.

I will walk forever

To bring back the

Beginning.

(Why can't we just go back to the beginning?)

Hopeless reality, swirling around me

Stars, please forgive me.

For I am not a liar,

Just easily fooled by lies.

(Why can't we just go back to the beginning?)

Who is our Gatsby?

Twin shadows in twilight affair,

But a dream, this dream is.

O, believe we are

Unrequited in our love.

It has been stolen

By a blackbird

In the white suit

Of a dove.

(If I could just go back to the beginning?)

There once was a house on a hill,

With rooms so empty, they were filled.

The parties were a figment

Of a man's imagination, his toys

Were hid away for fear of annihilation.

Symphonic music awoke a beating heart

In hidden tattered dolls. The party-goers

Thought the party would never fall.

What they did not know was; there was

Blood within the walls.

(There is no beginning.)
