Coming to terms with the faults of one's self as well as the faults of others.
Responsibility is earned not given,
Especially the way that I am living,
Day to day seeking the next thrill,
Pleasurable acts one by one until I've had my fill,

People from the past waving through the rearview,
Parting ways in such a manner is nothing new,
Onto the next one, with no future in mind,
There are some new people; perhaps I will be kind,

Change my ways and start all over,
The real me has yet to get real life exposure,
Superficial feelings fill the room and suppress me,
A true individual will always impress me,

In a world where individuality died out long ago,
In exchange for hand waving and screaming at a show,
Role models who break the law seem consistent,
To emulate those people, we sure are insistent,

Everyone just wants to be everybody else,
Wearing the same shoes, shirts, pants, and belts,
Stand up and be different, it would be quite the feat,
Or fade into norms, remaining discrete.
