What awaits in the darkness of night?
Strange is the night, dark and lonely
                A peaceful, tranquil atmosphere calls
Darkness of night speaks to me
Its existence entices, to go foraging into its mystery

                It sings within my mind
Much like the Siren sang to Butes in Argonautica
                                        I wonder
Does danger lurk behind its blackened curtain?
Could I hope for an Aphrodite to save my soul as well?
For want of an answer, only a quest would reveal.

Bleak, and yet beautiful, the emptiness transcends all
The aphotic maze, echoes unending search, with serendipity at its core.

                                        Must I go?
Can I brave this solemn event, ever alone?
                Fearing what cannot be seen
                Not seeing what I fear
Can I venture forth on this journey?
                Into this beckoning night
                Defy this primal fear...
                                        Go I must
                                        I must go
                                Into this Beckoning Night
                                        I am alone
