“That’s not what I’m saying”!

“Well, don’t expect me to try to understand what you’re saying when you’re screaming it at me!”

“I’m not screaming; you’re the one who’s going to get the neighbors’ attention!”

“I need a minute.”

“Take all the time you need, buster.”

How did this start, anyway? Oh, right – she said she wanted to go out with her friends tonight, and I griped about how I was going to starve if she didn’t cook every once in a while. So basically this whole argument is my fault – but she doesn’t need to know that. Not yet. She’d shove it down my throat. But still, someone’s got to apologize first… and seeing as it was my fault….

Why was I such a crab? Sure, he whined about not having enough to eat around here, but why do I let the things he says get to me at such a deep level? Why can’t I just laugh them off and get on with life? I should really apologize.

“Honey? Hey – I’m sorry.”

“Me too. I love you.”

“Me too.”
