The cars people drive
Today, as I sat in traffic, looking around at the cars zinging in and out, I started thinking about the cars I grew up with.
All of the cars made in the last ten years seem to be identical in every way.
The only way to tell them apart is to read the name on the back or side of the car.
They are small, quiet, and cheaply made.
I realize that we need to save gas and keep our air clean, but I sure miss the cars of yesterday.
The muscle cars were made to last forever, and hardly ever got totaled if in a wreck.
Driving one of these cars made ever one look when you stopped at a light, because if they didn't see you,
they sure heard you coming.......
When I learned to drive many years ago, most everything was a stick shift, but they were fun to drive an race.

There was a 1970 red Chevelle SS convertible, black racing stripes on the hood, stopped beside me at
a red light, today. For a brief moment I was back in the 70s' when a car was really a car.
Of coarse you can still buy a Shelby Mustang or a Camaro for a small fortune, but it's not the same
as building your own muscle car made to run.

Nothing sweeter than a date with a fast, noisy car and a trip to the Dairy Queen on a
Saturday night.....................................
Those were the days and I wish I was there.....................................
