Santa has to improvise.
Santa was forced to see kids in the street;
it was a department store interlude.
Yet dear old Santa did not miss a beat.

Santa employed a wood crate for a seat;
it was quite functional even though crude.
Santa was forced to see kids in the street.

Then came a rain which felt sort of like sleet.
The cold drizzle reflected his mood.
Yet dear old Santa did not miss a beat.

There were a lot of young children to meet;
out by the curb an exuberant brood!
Santa was forced to see kids in the street.

And all the youngsters regarded the treat;
some sat upon his lap like they were glued.
Yet dear old Santa did not miss a beat.

Still he was happy for the extra heat;
therefore he had not a penchant for rude.
Santa was forced to see kids in the street;
yet dear old Santa did not miss a beat.
