Not based on real events of mine, completely original and inspired by the pain of others.
Tears falling, she feels dead
Knife sliding, she drips red
Laying back, the world turns grey
Muscles relaxing, she allows her life to fade

Her final moments come, she continues to cry
To her friends, she gives a silent goodbye
I open the door, and rush outside
Plead with her not to die

All in vain, my efforts fold
Gone now, she grows cold
I hold her close, for the last time
Having taken hers, I want to take mine

Hands trembling, I lose my nerve
Place the knife back in the dirt
My pain I feel, wishing it weren’t real
My heart breaks, hers alone to heal

Can’t live like this, it’s just not fair
Into her dead eyes, I’m forced to stare
She lies against a tree, finally at peace
Just wishing, for it, her life didn’t have to cease

My hands stained red, I say my final goodbye
Trying my hardest not to cry
“I love you” I whisper in her ear
“I love you too” I long to hear

So rest now my love
For one day I’ll see you above
Till then I count the days
Since you decided not to stay
