From a group of poems written after the two year anniversary of 9/11
Two People

What makes a heart grow so cold?
What makes them grow so bold?
Why do some rush to the grave?
Why do some become so brave?
How can some have such hate?
How can some have such love?
Where do you learn such hate?
Where do you learn such love?
When do lives become so meaningless?
When does life not matter at all?
Who would rush to die and kill?
Who would rush to die and save?
Two completely different people.
Two people just alike.
Both fighting for what they believe is right.
One chooses death for the cause.
One chooses death for the life it may save.
People dying for their faith.
A people united, growing in their faith.
They tried to shatter us.
To bring us to our knees.
Instead we rose together.
Becoming one nation under God.
