Gone

I watched intently as he walked away,
A love so pure and true was gone for good,
I never thought that it would end that day,
He left me when he swore he never would.

         I have a broken heart that just won't mend,
         My confidence is lying on the ground,
         The tears flow freely whenever I think,
         I'm on my own without my love around.

With each breath that I take I want him more,
But I haven't heard from him since that day,
Being hurt by the man that I adore,
I can't believe he's treating me this way.

         "I love you" will never be repeated,
         And now I wish I never would have cheated.
