Sometimes you just need a helping hand to lift you out of the dark.
The marks on my skin bear your name
The world is pieced together but never the same.

You burned through my dreams like a ball of fire
You thought that I could meet your desires.

And when the paper crumbled to ash
You cut the earth and left a gash.

With the remains to carry and souls to lift
I traded with luck for dangerous gifts.

When the earth finally gave way
I was the one who had to pay.

The abyss was dark and I couldn't escape
His time had come and the devil took shape.

But then a light came and pulled me out
It defeated the devil and showed us the route.

I rebuild the world using blood, sweat, and tears
Thinking much of those horrid years.

When the world was done and I’d begun again
I remembered you and where I have been.
