A Christmas Poem, written in the classical rhyming style.
The 1,000 Year Old Elf

A fat little man with a pipe at his lips.
A tall glass of milk, and some chocolaty chips.
He'll roll down the shaft with his bag full of toys,
Put treats in your socks, without making a noise

He dresses in Red, with white fringe all around.
His hair, like the cotton that grows from the ground.
His beard's like a shield, to protect from the cold.
Some say that the elf is a thousand years old.

He tiptoes around every house like a cat,
Shushing each dog, who might bark, with a pat.
Each good girl and boy, will arise to find treats,
The bad ones get coals, for their troublesome feats.

Old Nick never tires, from fulfilling kids wishes,
Especially ones who leave cookies on dishes.
When his Christmas eve journey has come to an end,
He flies North in his sleigh, as his deer ride the wind.

His sack is now empty, the gifts are all gone.
The sky's turning purple, a hint of the dawn.
With a laugh that is full, he rides into the squall,
As he sings "Merry Christmas, to each, and to all!"  *SantaHat*
