Try to enjoy life and not take it too seriously.
Woe is he who forgets
that life is just one big jest.
At our birth,
we all wept,
while our parents
laughed so heartily.
How can we then, even partly,
think that life is not one big jest?

In the winter when the ground
is icy and on the pavement
snow is found.
We do throw balls of frozen water
and laugh at those
unfortunate few who
slip onto the icy ground.
How can we then
think that life is not one big jest?

When I am head over heels in love
and have big love dumb struck eyes,
I am smiling out of bliss
whilst my loved one clenches their fists
and cries as they do not love
me back and so, I ask, how
can you think life is not one big jest?

Taking life too seriously,
I think I may fail,
I then begin to wail
angry, tearful sighs,
and those around me seem
so perfectly tranquil and
have have sunbeams
in their life.
Is not life then
one big jest?

In death whilst all my mourners weep
I lay in my coffin as if in a deep sleep.
You may come with dread
to touch one last time my head.
But I am freed
from earthly bound
and know for sure
that life was one big jest.
