"One faux pas (mistake) is all it takes."
In my eyes you see a smile,
my lips arc into a perfect bow.
The perfection of my smile
carefully orchestrated, complementing
the smooth ivory of my skin.
I walk confident, my head held high,
sure of myself in each step I take,
I test the distribution of my weight
measuring the endurance of my footing.

I can feel the repressing panic making my heart beat faster,
I look around myself.
Afraid that they all know about my facade.
My smile starts to slip,
Revealing the uncertainty etched in each line of my face.
I stagger stretching my arms out to either side of me to
regain my balance.
It is too late I realize as I fall,
I had made a faux pas.
