A poem, if ye may. Would love some feedback, presented to you in its roughest form.
Poem II

And alas we reach
this state of adulthood
a delusion if not else
of freedom
but a slavery more apt
to live lives
as others envision
to follow rules
other men have set
nay, for this life
more restraint
more caution advised
when as children
freedom was our guide
now, it seems
experience be our teacher
a harsher parent
a crueler critic
a blood let friend
does naught
but rebuke
retorts ones slightest action
"now you must grow"
its haunting words
"no going back"
your life is now time's to take
dust you were
and dust shall you become"
go forth
mine friend"
go forth.
