frosty winter season
A Winter's Kiss

Painted patterns on my window
are flawless prints of winter's face;
glittering in the morning sun-
like diamonds of winter's grace.

Winter kisses that give a nip,
flawless ice upon the glass;
a bitter and chilling painter
that winter claims in it's icy grasp.

Whirling winds of wintry drifts
placing nipping kisses on my cheek.
Every snowflake floats around me,
while the chill of winter is in it's pique.

This visit from the white winter frost;
I long to see and would never dismiss.
It holds a grace I cannot compare-
the brittle cold of a winter's kiss.
