A short poem about my battle with self image.
I wish when I looked in the mirror I saw what was real
Instead of projecting an image based upon what I feel
Today you are ugly, unhappy, and broken
Always ignoring the kindest words spoken
"Woman you're beautiful inside and out!"
Reach inside and remove all your doubt
It's taking over a beautiful mind
Quickly replacing caring and kind
With unending darkness and heavy sorrow
Wipe your tears pretty lady
We'll try again tomorrow
