Her reflection in the moon.
In the darkness she looked up to space
eye toward the moon she found his face.
She wished but not upon a star
she wished on grief, on the nights scar.
His ace turned and the whole world spun
then man on the moon had his eye on none.
His gaze drifted slowly, coldly, and set the tone
she knew for now she was alone.
In the morning the sun would rise
but she still unhidden from his eyes
would slink in shadows, wait in the dark.
Trying not to fall apart.
One day she would make him see
life was not just misery.
The man in the moon,
the dream in her eye,
he would watch her try and try.
