This poem is about the memories of a war veteran
Memories

They are always in my head

The things that I saw

I try to push them out

But they wont go away

Memories trapped like a dog behind a chain link fence

If you know what I have seen you would understand

When I hear loud noises I hit the ground

When I think of old friends I cry myself to sleep

The biggest reminder of what I have seen

Is when I look down

I see air and the wheels on my chair

That’s how I remember
