The girl we all think we know and whats behind her mask.
She was the one with the contagious laugh.
The one doing good in every class
All the girls would ask, “Why don’t I look like that?”
And all the guys would say “I want a girl like that someday.”

But not one of them said it too her face
She went home alone every day,
now the girl at school- gone without a trace.
A complete transformation, as she fades away.

Where did she go?
The girl with the bright eyes
But deep down, she’s lost inside
Girl with a smile, so warm
A damaged soul, so torn

Sometimes she wishes she were never born.
Things are so bad now, she hurts herself.
The pain helps her now, these scares adorn,
her body now.
As she looks into a mirror upon a shelf
they lay hidden beneath her clothes,
her skin is torn.

She will never heal, even when they fully close,
she’ll never love herself.
Her chest aches and the tears fall.
Crushed beneath the weight of it all,
the pain awakes inside her now.

The truth will show, she’s falling down, her mask slips away,
shattering her facade.
Her reality showing, just how flawed she seems to be,
shining in her eyes.
Can you hear her plea, her silent cries?

Where did she go?
The girl with the bright eyes.
But deep down she’s lost inside
Girl with a smile, so warm.
A damaged soul, so torn.
