A poem about pesty weeds!

Claire Borges

Mr. Waddington

English 8

3/12/14

Dandelions

Splotches of yellow along the sidewalk

Pretty as they seem

Mock the obedient flowers with their uncontrollable talk

Dandelions standing tall and lean

Causing lots of trouble

In the sea of green

After one day there is double

And the next there are more

Then begins a real struggle

The grass, the poison, and the dandelions fighting a war

The flowers take control of the ground

And the poison knocks out the flowers and ends the gore

The poison thinks it has overcome the loud

But dormant the yellow lies beneath

When a little yellow seedling grows out of a mound
