The last time I saw your face
it was behind an oxygen mask.

Your eyes implored me
You longed to breathe your last.

When next I saw you
You were dead.

I despise the words that people say:

"My dad would not want me to feel this way."

How can you even care
Now you've died and gone away.

Wake up, Dad.
