CONSTEST POEM
“The pelicans, sir, had nothing to do with it!”
Why one would blame them is odd
They float in the ocean, and eat lots of fish
But larceny? ……… Never, by God!
I know it is tempting to think that they might
Eat your whole wallet in awesome bite
But it’s not in their nature
Pick pockets they’re not
It takes one to know one,
So one I would spot
In fact, if your wallet is missing I fear
It would be far better, if I were not here
My parole officer would never endear
The thought that a wallet is gone when I’m near
So I’ll fly, before that pot starts to stir
BUT…..THE PELCIANS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT SIR!
