Staring at white pages,
have I been here before
it’s like I am caged
will you open the door
free me, free my heart
I just want to write art

Can you free me, can you even see me
I’m staring right back at you
Can you free me, or will you leave me
Maybe you can see me, too

Words scrawled everywhere
there’s a rhyme somewhere
Like a code or puzzle
Maybe I’m able
Put the words together
I could do this forever

Can you free me, can you even see me
I’m staring right back at you
Can you free me, or will you leave me
Maybe you can see me, too

Does it help if I tell you my secrets
Will it help if I spill my regrets
I just want this page, and the next page
covered with words across the cage

Can you free me, please, just see me
I’m staring right at your face
Can you free me, please don’t leave me
I want out of this place
