Impossible
Not responsible
A fallen angel
Evicted from Heaven
Released from his service
Thrown down from the sky
Without a single care
And despite past affairs
All the good he has done
Erased by something quite bad
What exactly
Curiosity runs through
But I know and respect
That what it must be
Is between him and his God
Such a ridiculous calamity as his
Has not gone unnoticed
I saw him fall from the clouds
I watched him burn up on entry
Crashing down in a field
Leveling everything of beauty around
Bringing with him darkness and doubt
Bringing with him not an ounce of clout
His position with God above replaced
With the mortality of our ways
If need be I’ll removed his wings
Ripping them from his spine
Severing all ties with his plight
I’ll do it not because I care
But because I see it as right
I won’t further ask him any questions
I will accept the look in his eyes
Because I have seen it many times before
Within my very own
A fallen angel
From Heaven above
From God’s madness under the sun
Has been tossed from clouds
Sent spiraling down into madness
I saw him fall from the sky
I watched him burn up on entry
Crashing down in a field
Leveling everything of beauty around
Bringing with him darkness and doubt
I will raise him back up
Not to his previous position and place
But to one that cannot be erased
To one of minor objectivity
And consequential depravity
If by some ordained miracle
He finds his way back to God
I won’t judge his decision
I will only remind him of his fall
And tell him that in this life
All that we have done
Can do
And will ever come to do
Can inheritably be forgiven
Set right with nothing more
Than the passage of our time
And not via a system of belief
That requires us to lose our wings
If and when we make a mistake…
