Some thoughts about Mother's Day cards.
A card to Mom may be fast
With words inscribed about the past
But even better - would be a letter.

Write them down, some words of joy,
Of Mom's gifts to you, a favorite toy.

Or her words of praise that meant a lot,
And helped you through an awkward spot.

Or maybe, when you had the flu,
And everything she did for you.

Make her see a special love,
In thoughtful words you're proud of.
Ditch that store-bought card that feigns to profess
You care enough to send the best.

P.S.

Just some thoughts I had today
but of course I have to say
the Hallmark card delights me too,
the meaning special, as if they knew.
