A poem about where I come from.
I come from my parents. Not really, but sort of.

I come from our old homes in the city and a cabin in the woods.

I come from soft golden dog hair and “Daddy can we keep it?”.

I come from the smoky smell of grilling and the brilliant taste of spaghetti.

I come from the golden rule of “treat others the way you wish to be treated” because that’s what’s right.

I come from many chances to see the world and decide for myself.

I come from a place where my dreams and wishes have a chance to come true but, only if I work hard.

I come from caring and kindness but mostly I come from love.
