Poem about new white walls and finding the bathroom wall littered with black streaks.
New white painted walls I can see,
so bright before me,
hiding the grey cement wall,
that looked bland and old,
as I was to shower,
I seen before me,
many dark streaks,
Oh my walls,
what has happened?,
Many dark highways
stretched up the walls,
something small,
lives amongst these stalls,
I only wonder what it could be,
that roams below me,
All that work and half is gone,
something terrible went wrong.
could it be ones foot being,
rubbed on my walls,
or a critter that crawls,
it has to be a foot or more, a monster in my shower,
how could it be,
than right before me,
in front of my very eyes,
a small fat critter,
dotted grey and brown,
was a toad,
on my shower ground,
with one look at me,
up he went,
climbed the wall
made of cement,
To the ceiling he goes
chasing a dragonfly
pointed and aimed with his nose,
out came his tongue and back again,
with dragonfly and all,
slowly climbing backwards to the floor,
was the very monster,
who marked up my walls,
with one look again and a wink,
off he went some where under my sink,
the very monster who messed up my paint,
is now gone and left me with this stain,
no more nice white walls,
just dark as cement,
so much for a new apartment.
