Some thoughts I had upon listening to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"
I
I turn to the moon:
"Nureyev is dead; his once untethered feet are earthbound at last."

II
I turn away from the moon:
"There are worse things than dying."
"What do you mean by that?"
"One can live without hope."

III
I turn back to the moon:
"And how does one know that one feels?"
"Pain."
