a reverse double etheree
at night, as I appease the chaos of
my day by setting down curled up on
the couch with my laptop warming
me, a technological
bonfire basking my aches
away, I wonder
why I ever
leave comfort
and peace,
but
I
know, if
I never
left, I would not
know the aches that make
the end of the day so
beautiful. sleep is no gift.
only a person working with
no pause, fingers bleeding, eyes burning
would consider rest a fitting reward
